Entrevista a @Mispapelicos: Tips de Estilo - Farfetch

When Farfetch approached me for an interview I knew nothing about them. Since then, I have learned how Farfetch was founded in 2007 by José Neves, a Portuguese entrepreneur involved in the fashion world, who saw the need for a virtual boutique market place to give independent fashion boutiques an online retail presence without losing their identity while boosting their position in the market.
Cuando Farfetch me propuso una entrevista no sabía quienes eran, investigando descubrí como fue fundada por el portugués José Neves en 2007 viendo la necesidad de aunar de forma virtual y ofrecer un mercado a las boutiques independientes sin que perdieran su identidad o posición.

1.-Tell us about your hair, how did you come about such an iconic hairdo now part of your style?
1.-Háblanos de tu pelo, ¿Cómo diste con ese peinado tan icónico que ya es parte de tu estilo personal?

One morning, about 4 years ago, I woke up with a curl in my hair, and I had a vision. I went straight to my hairdresser friend and I asked her to shave my head leaving only the hair at the top to make a 40- 50s curl meets punk style.
Una mañana, va ya para 4 años, me levanté con una especie de rizo en el pelo y saltó la chispa. Me fui a mi peluquera amiga y le pedí que me rapase la cabeza dejando sólo la parte superior para hacer un bucle- mezcla de años 40-50 con punk.

2.- How has your style evolved? Having lived in London, what influenced you the most?
2.-¿Cómo ha evolucionado tu estilo? Habiendo vivido en Londres ¿qué influencias te marcaron más?

Since I was a little girl I was interested in clothes, and that interest evolved into a passion without slavery over the years. Living in England opened the door to the second hand universe to me. Charity shops, flea markets, car boot sales, where I could find unique pieces with a story behind them got me hooked for life.
Desde pequeña me ha interesado la ropa y el interés fue evolucionando a pasión sin esclavitud con el tiempo. Vivir en Inglaterra me abrió la puerta al mundo de la segunda mano. Las tiendas de caridad y los mercadillos, donde encontraba piezas únicas con historias. Me enganchó para toda la vida.

3.-You are not afraid of colours or prints, what would you say to somebody who is still daunted by them?
No le temes a los colores intensos ni a los estampados impactantes ¿qué le dirías a alguien que aún les tiene miedo?

For me getting dressed is a creative process, like the painter who uses brushes and paint, I just use clothes instead. I get dressed for myself without limits or rules although always keeping in mind the fine line between quirky and clownish. It requires a strong ego who does not care about other people´s opinion. To those who don´t dare yet I would tell them to love themselves and get dressed from within with clothes that make them feel wonderful.
Para mí vestirme es crear, como el pintor que usa sus pinceles y pintura sólo que yo lo hago con ropa. Me visto para mí misma sin límites ni reglas sabiendo muy bien distinguir la fina línea que separa lo atrevido de lo payaso. Se requiere un ego fuerte y firme al que no le importe la opinión de los demás. A los que no se atreven les diría que empiecen a quererse y que se vistan desde su centro con prendas que l@s hagan sentir maravillos@s.

4.-You are a magician with the volumes and know very well how to play with the structure of your silhouette, what is your secret?
4.-Eres una maga de los volúmenes y sabes muy bien cómo jugar con la estructura de la silueta. ¿Cuál es tu secreto?

The secret is always knowing oneself and loving what and who you are. The volume on the shoulders is very flattering to my figure because it compensates my hips, but I also just love it aesthetically.
El secreto está siempre en conocerte y quererte como eres. A mí me favorecen los volúmenes en los hombros que compensan mis caderas, y los llevo porque además me encantan.

5.-What brands or designers do you have as reference?
¿Qué marcas o diseñadores tienes como referencia?
Marc Jacobs, Gareth Pugh, Gucci, Prada, Miu Miu, Maison Margiela, Thom Browne, Marni, Comme des Garcons, Dolce & Gabbana.

6.- What other women do you consider an inspiration?
6.-¿Y a qué otras mujeres consideras una inspiración?
All the women who dare to leave their comfort zone and inspire others.
