Rebel Schiaparelli Inspiration

I made this necklace inspired by the rebel Elsa Schiaparelli, a woman who wore insects round her neck while Coco Chanel was in pearls.

Hice este collar inspirada en la rebelde y rompedora Elsa Schiaparelli, una mujer que llevó insectos en el cuello mientras Cocó Chanel lucía perlas.

When I saw this woman, slowly fading away on a wall,  I felt she was a generous present  to everyone touched by her purple dreams.
Cuando ví a esta mujer, lentamente descascarillándose en una pared, supe que era un generoso regalo a todos los que nos emocionamos ante su sueños malva.

When I get commets like: Follow me follow you or Shall we follow each other?

I feel they are saying: I will love you if you love me...

And to me, love should always be unconditional.

Cuando recibo mensajes como: Sígueme y  te sigo o ¿Nos seguimos? Siento como si alguien me dijera: te quiero si me quieres...
Y para mí el amor debería ser siempre incondicional.

Birds on My Skirt & Rembrandt

A blogger friend:  Le Vaisseau Sélénite pointed out to me that the head in the print  is a Rembrandt´s self potrait.  I am thrilled because this adds to the magic of the skirt.

Una amiga bloguera: Le Vaisseau Sélénite me hizo apreciar que la figura en el estampado es un autorretrato de Rembrandt. Estoy emocionada porque ésto aumenta, aún más, la magia de la falda.

          Even the birds came to see, and perched on it

The Story of a Skirt

I swapped this skirt  with Aminta  knowing that it was far too small for me:  size 34/ UK 6 /USA 4.

Le  cambie esta falda a Aminta aún sabiendo que era demasiado pequeña para mí: talla 34/ UK 6 / USA 4.

 I undid it to make it into a size 44, and discovered this wonderful silk- cotton blue printed fabric. 

La deshice para convertirla en una talla 44  y descubrí esta maravillosa tela  de algodón de seda estampada.

   As you can imagen the blue fabric became the true star of the skirt, and  will never hide again between the tulle and the velvet.
Como puedes imaginar la tela azul se convirtió en la auténtica protagonista de la falda, que ya nunca más se esconderá entre el tul y el terciopelo.

Going for my yearly medical check up,  I thought of  this dress to scare any fear of the unknown...
Who or what whould dare with this splash of red and blue?

2 Husband´s Shirts = 1 Wife´s Skirt

The back is just cut with a straight  seam. The sleeves at the front, when tied, adapt the shirts to the shape of the body.
La parte de atrás va cortada y lisa. Las mangas de la delantera, al atarlas,  se adaptan a la forma del cuerpo.
