The Story of a Skirt

I swapped this skirt  with Aminta  knowing that it was far too small for me:  size 34/ UK 6 /USA 4.

Le  cambie esta falda a Aminta aún sabiendo que era demasiado pequeña para mí: talla 34/ UK 6 / USA 4.

 I undid it to make it into a size 44, and discovered this wonderful silk- cotton blue printed fabric. 

La deshice para convertirla en una talla 44  y descubrí esta maravillosa tela  de algodón de seda estampada.

   As you can imagen the blue fabric became the true star of the skirt, and  will never hide again between the tulle and the velvet.
Como puedes imaginar la tela azul se convirtió en la auténtica protagonista de la falda, que ya nunca más se esconderá entre el tul y el terciopelo.

Red and Blue

Going for my yearly medical check up,  I thought of  this dress to scare any fear of the unknown...
Who or what whould dare with this splash of red and blue?
Iba a mi revisión medica anual, así es que pensé en este vestido para espantar cualquier miedo a lo desconocido...

2 Husband´s Shirts = 1 Wife´s Skirt

The back is just cut with a straight  seam. The sleeves at the front, when tied, adapt the shirts to the shape of the body.
La parte de atrás va cortada y lisa. Las mangas de la delantera, al atarlas,  se adaptan a la forma del cuerpo.

Madeleine Vionnet - 2 Shirts = 1 Skirt

Inspired by Madeleine Vionnet, the creator of the bias cut  around 1935, and her art of draping, I dared to make  a skirt out of 2 of my husband´s  old shirts.

Inspirada por Madeleine Vionnet , la inventora del corte al bies  allá por 1935, y su arte en los drapeados,  me atrevo a crear una falda con dos  camisas viejas de mi marido.

                            Madeleine made clothes that cling to the body  as if they were made of liquid silk.

                                     Madeleine hizo posible que la ropa abrazara el cuerpo como si estuvira hecha de seda líquida.

Wool & Black Velvet

It is getting colder in the south of Spain, so time to wear my favourite vintage coat. Pure new wool and black velvet bought in a market for 1 euro. After being in the cleaners (5,50 euros) it was as good as new.
Anybody can go into a shop, produce a credit card and buy, but the thrill of rescueing a treasure like this is difficult to describe.

Empieza a hacer frío en el sur de España, así es que llega la hora de lucir mi abrigo favorito. Pura lana virgen y terciopelo negro comprado en un mercadillo por 1 euro. Después de pasar por la superlimpieza (5, 50) estaba como nuevo.

Cualquiera puede entrar en una tienda, extender una tarjeta y comprar, pero la emoción de rescatar un tesoro como éste,  es una sensación indescriptible.

Chocolate

"Chocolat" is one of those films that I watch at least once a year. I let myself flow with the scent of the sweet cocoa that touches the hearts,  and turns evil to goodness while licking the soul.

"Chocolate" es una de esas películas que veo al menos una vez al año. Fluyo con el dulce aroma del cacao que toca los corazones y torna el mal en bondad mientras lame el alma.
