Christmas Lights

As we approach Christmas many people believe it is an invention of the Christian religions or the big department stores;  while  the truth is that  from the time of the Druids the winter solstices were times to wear their best clothes, prepare delicious food, and exchange presents.  A  way  of rejoicing,  being  grateful, and  bringing  light to the long  and cold winter months.
Cuando nos acercamos a la navidad muchos piensan que es una invención de las religiones cristianas o de los grandes almacenes, cuando en realidad ya en tiempo de los Druidas se celebraban los solsticios de invierno. Era el momento de lucir las mejores galas, preparar manjares deliciosos e intercambiar regalos. Una forma de alegría y agradecimiento que iluminaba los las largas y oscuras noches invernales.

              I follow no other religion than the dictates of my own heart, but like the Druids I celebrate life at every chance.
                  Me mantengo bien alejada de cualquier religión, pero como los Druidas  celebro la vida en cualquier oportunidad.
