I am wearing an 80s vintage dress, a blue leather belt from Oasis -England; lace gloves and espadrilles I customised with a pair of broken earrings.
On Blog Overbranding.
I understand that blogging is for some a way of earning a living, and that is ok by me, as long as it doesn´t become a narcotic diffusion that ends up boring the readers, and shutting the voice of the person behind the blog .
What do you think about it?
What do you think about it?

love the dress because it is colorful and full of fan. but what makes it interesting are the accessories. especially the gloves. really need a pair like that. the shoes have the most amazing color, love the delicate purple. wow so the fan is completely hand painted, what an accessory!! so pretty and perfect. sorry to hear about your brother girl!!
Estás preciosa!!! Y qué bonito homenaje a tu hermano!
BESOS y mil gracias SIEMPRE!
Such a delicious outfit! And that fan is beautifully painted. you always manage to create a great package with your accessories :)
What a beautiful fan, and such a wonderful memory of your dear brother. I adore your gloves they are very Spanish.
Yes I agree about branding, ads and promotions in posts are fine with me so long as it is still interesting. When I work with brands I am very fussy and will only work with them if I know my readers will be interested and I make sure the posts are to my regular standard. x
Love the shoes, totally fabulous.
I don't follow any of the blogs with lots of ads, they usually don't show anything original, I don't need them & they wouldn't notice me following them anyway!
I love that fan and I would love to make a few $$ on my blog but would hate it to become boring and just money based and anyway I have no clue how they do it at this stage and am not ready to look into it at this stage.
that dress is just superb!
You look fab again... the colors suit you and the accessories really make the outfit so exciting...
The Fan is Fan-tastic, but sorry to hear about your brother.
Bisou Anna
Besos!
you look so colourful and happy, like a garden in summer...
i love the outfit...and i guess your brother would love it too, if he could see you...big hug

Oh Sacramento, you are beautiful, as always. I love your fan - how wonderful to have something so beautiful made by your brother. You are so clever, using recycled earring to bling up your shoes! And I LOVE the black nails and lace gloves - they balance your outfit perfectly.

I love everything, especially those earrings. Wild! I don't mind people monetizing their blogs but I like it to be tailored to their style and what they do. Like, running contests from designers whose things they would wear are fine, but contests from any and every brand that wants to sponsor them are annoying. Or personal recommendations and product reviews are fine, but not for things they haven't tried and don't really like. I find Google ads entirely ignorable as long as they're less than an eighth of the content.
These colors you're wearing in this outfit are so beautiful that i could literally eat you! And i love the constant customizing you do, it's such a great way to have fun with fashion!
About overbranding, i don't have a problem with it as long as it doesn't become a custom. There are many blogs out there which used to be great when they started but now people mostly read them because of the giveaways and free stuff...

What a lovely fan, and even better that it has personal meaning! Beautiful dress too!
I am ok with bloggers making money out of their blog, but I don't like people where about 50% of what they ever write is sponsored. I do think sponsored posts are often much less interesting.
Plus, personally I am a person not a brand. I don't like putting myself into boxes to keep to a theme that sponsors would like. But if a suitable sponsor came along that likes a random outfits/photography/craft/feminism mix, I would not say no. But that is unlikely to happen!
Great outfit. Love the colors and the shoes are fantastic!

I love this entire look, especially the fan next to the black lace gloves and black nail polish. You look gorgeous! It's perfect for Easter.
Hola!!!

Oh Sacramento, your dear brother was as wonderfully creative as you. You look beautiful in your dress and the artistic touches are just perfect. xxx
That is so special! I love that you took the fan out and matched an outfit to it.
I love every DETAIL of this look from fan, to gloves to shoe...great job, sweet Sacramento!! I agree with the statement...when merchandising or advertising cause a blogger to lose their mission or who they really are, then blogging for income destroys the blog. One young blogger said recently that she accepts NO FREEBIE if she did not have it in her bank account to purchase if she were buying it. Her blog focuses on affordable fashion and if she reviews or pictures items not affordable then she is not being true to herself or her audience. I was very impressed with her for saying that.
loving all the beautiful lilac!!
What a beautiful painted fan, how lovely that you can commemorate your late loved one in such a creative way! I love the outfit, the little rose detail is wonderful! And I agree with you about the ads, they are like annoying background noise! But if there is original content I will put up with them, people do need to make a living! Have a great day lady!!
those earrings are SO beautiful! you have some really beautiful accessories sacramento!
on blog branding...i think it's VERY important to stay true to your blog and only go with products/companies that are your style!
Hi my dear-a really lovely dress, the colour and cut looks fabulous on and your fan is just wonderful!! Happy Easter too xx
You look GORGEOUS!! I love those earrings! That fan is so beautiful; I'm glad you're able to utilize something of your brother's in such a lovely way.
Hi there,
what a precious thing to have to remember your brother by, it's really beautiful.
I LOVE sun fans, I remember getting my very first one on Holiday in Benidorm in 1984.
Take care my love & I hope you've had a relaxing Easter.
Luv,

besos
How gorgeous are you? I love that dress! The colors in these photos are simply amazing. And I'm obsessed with what you did to the espadrilles. I want to DIY more, like you!

It saddens me to know that you've lost your brother. The fan is lovely, he did a great job painting it.
I love the floral printed dress and the wide belt. You always wear fantastic dresses, colorful and full of life, just like you.
Happy Easter, I hope you will spend this holiday next to your beloved ones !
Sacramentito,
Love your dress reminds me of a 50's house coat,so colorful.
those gloves and shoes with earrings, que creativa eres siempre.
How precious of your hermano to make a fan for you, what a lindo recuerdo amor.
What a beautiful dress made even lovelier with the pairing of your brother's handpainted fan. You are a blossom of springtime, Sacramento.
Blog over-branding is a delicate balance, and I do feel a bigger challenge to add money to the mix. That said, there are bloggers who do it with grace and dexterity, which I hope I can adeptly balance as well, but I do sometimes feel a loss of voice when a blogger takes on a poorly matched sponsor.
Thank you so much dear!
this outfit is so awesome again.
such an gorgeous fan... it has to be a very beloved keepsake...
happy easter to you.
(oh, thanks for calling me 'more beautiful' than kate middleton. i think she is very good looking, maybe a little too skinny...)
Oh wow I so love the colors on that dress! They are stunning and purple is one of my favorite colors! :D Gorgeous .
Lovely dress and the fan is beautiful. I think monetizing your blog is fine as long as it meshes with your blog. Yay...the earrings!

LOVE those SHOES!!!!Those are the BEST espadrilles I've ever seen!
On the overbranding issue--I feel the same as you--you cant loose yourself.
Besos!!
love your blog!! <3 xoxo Follow me Via blogroll.. Add my blog in your list..i will add yours!!! kisses!

Your wonderful outfit goes perfectly with the beautiful fan!

Love the outfit and of course your earrings!!! Such a wonderful ode to your brother! :)
I absolutely agree about what you said. The bloggers should not lose their voice and personality in all the consumerism. Staying honest and being yourself is very important :)

The fan is lovely. So nice that you can use it and remember your brother that way. Very exciting that your belt is from England, a little bit of here over there with you.
the outfit is a lovely tribute to match the beautiful fan your brother made for you - colorful, vibrant, and full of life! you look lovely.
the painting is so nice, it#s really similar to the russian art style (i am russian btw)... very romantic and dreamy! i guess your brother was a very dreamy guy? i like that.
btw customization is the word i just learnt few days ago :D i love to do DIY and the word didnt exist in my vocabulary :D
what great shoes!
I'm sorry to hear about your brother's passing, but it is wonderful you have something made by him that no doubt has much of his energy in it.
I'm not sure I understand what "overbranding" a blog means, but I think the most popular blogs are well loved because they are full of character and individuality so as long as that remains integral to the blog...
What a precious thing that fan must be to you and what a beautiful job he did. I always love studying your posts for the richness of detail.
As for overbranding, I click away every time I realize that someone is trying to sell me something. I figure that anything that requires advertising is nothing I need.
u know what i love about your blog most? ... not only do u have a wicked sense of style but u also dicuss contrersial topics in the blogosphere.
i never actually tried to make a living out of my blog but for a while i worked with a company and i would advertise for them in my posts. Till they started asking me if they could write my posts and then if I could just post them on the blog. They threated that if I refuse they will no longer work with me. Obviously I did refuse and that was the end of me making money from my blog.
xoxo

Definitely one of my favourite outfits, love the vintage dress. Happy Easter to you x
Beautiful outfit and wonderful tribute to your brother. The colours work very well and the shoes are very pretty. Xxxx
A sartorial homage.
all is so beautiful! I`m very much about flower prints now, very delicate outfit!
I`m not very strict about advertising and if someone seliing something as we all love to buy too AND we`d all want to add a bit of money to our hobby to stimulate ourselves, other question is how we do this overloading with ads or not...

love the floral dress.

Bss.

Sacramento, I agree that balancing monetizataion and content is tricky and some overdo the blog sponsorship part. I've only just now begun to entertain any ads on my blog because it has taken so long for quality companies to approach me. That said, I've got a flat no-giveaway policy. I'm soooooooooo sick of giveaways on other blogs. There is one blog that I am fond of, but all it is now is a giveaway machine, so I almost never visit anymore.
Anyway, so lovely to have a little piece of art from your brother. I'm sure it means the world to you.
xo
i love this, it's very playful yet also romantic. the details are beautiful.
I soooo like what you did with the shoes.......& did your brother really paint that fan? It's gorgeous!!
Hi,
The fan your brother painted for you is beautiful, I love carrying fans in my handbag because I never know when I need one.
Your brother so talented.

yout brother was a talented artist, it is such a beautiful remebrance to have this fan (abanico..the spanish word I think?!) and incorporate it in the outfit. You look beautiful as ever, these purpley/blue colours suit you really well

O,blog overbranding?? I don't mind too much, but I'm more interested in outfits and happenings, especially as I can't afford to shop with the wonderful ones with fabulous businesses! I like a nice balance.
I'm so sorry for your loss and how special is that fan! Wow. The colors in the dress, the earrings, everything is the perfect match for it! So beautiful!

I love the sassy black nails & gloves in contrast to the rest of your bright colors - and those earrings are wooonderful!
It's funny, I was just having a conversation with my dad about the future of the blogosphere - and about how internet dynamics can change due to money/ legal issues/ corporate control.
Anyway, I think it's fantastic right now that individuals can turn their writings about their passions into their livelihood, but I agree that shifting a blog's focus to earnings could overshadow the individuality. But I'm still glad that that option exists - I think the world's better for it!
Love your blog and sense of style. Your quite a lovely person and great dresser. Love the flower dress that goes with your brother's fan. Keep up the great work! I especially love the ankle bracelet, very unique.
What a lovely homage to your brother.
I think blog advertising should be done in moderation.
that's a beautiful story...and the dress works perfectly with the fan (and love the lace detail!)
Beautiful dress! I am in love with those colors...
Nikki
lovely colors and i love the contrast with the dark nails!
I simply adore your outfit! The dress and wedges are gorgeous! I am with you on the blogging issue! I think it is ok to talk about things that you truly love, after all that's what fashion blogger do:) But it's not at all ok to push products simply because you're being payed to do so! I love your blog and now following! Maybe you'll have time to visit my blog:)
Love,

Gorgeous dress - perfect with your brother's beautiful fan
I agree, as long as bloggers put time into choosing the brands they work with I don't see why not. Luckily not something I have to worry about ;) I lose the term "lucky" loosely here LOL after all who wouldn't like to make their blog pay for the odd dress or two?
I think I'm somewhat unusual because I have no interest in (most) give aways. I've only joined one and that was because it was on the Citizen Rosebud and it was a really pretty dress. In general I tend to zone out when I see product placement, "want lists" with photos from an internet clothing site, etc. I'm more interested in what people are doing with the clothing they have than what they might do with the clothing they don't have, though there are exceptions.
First of all, you look so lovely! As far as branding, I really have no problem with someone having ads on their blog. What really turns me off is when bloggers wear the courtesy items. They become less interesting to me and; I hate to say it, but they lose credibility in my eyes. They become models and not bloggers. Much love to you!! ~Serene
P.D. Me encantan tus zapatos ;)

Your entire outfit is beautiful, but the fan really takes the cake. Your brother is a very skilled artist. Please display more of his work if you can. I feel what your saying about blogs being too commercial and I have too much to say for this little comment box, but I will address it in the future. I feel that bloggers in general have a lot to learn from a woman as generous, humble, and gracious as yourself. You truly do give me the power to better myself and my blog with your kind words and thoughtful advice.
such lovely colors. I am sorry to know about your brother.
You said it so right about overbranding of blog
gosh this is so pretty xxx love the dress
I love your earrings an fan with this dress! What a perfect combination! Sorry about your brother :(
Love
Nicole
I have always had a bit of a thing for fans - they hark back to a bygone era. I think the way you created an ensemble to compliment the colours is wonderful. The pattern on the dress is so vibrant!
Asfar as blog overbranding - I think every blogger likes the perks of free clothes, or making some money, but the blog should still be 'theirs'.
Love that outfit!
The colours are amazing!
You have a lovely blog :)

Hey gorgeous, We're both channelling 80s Madonna with our fingerless gloves!! I'm struck by the exquisite lilac shade of your outfit and the belt and gloves are bang on!!!! Antonio loved his sister very much - the painted flowers reflect your exquisite, delicate beauty my lovely.
I think some bloggers are starting to switch on to the idea that people want to hear their "voice" not the brand and I've noticed some have rebalanced things by posting pics and words more often. I get sick of branding, but I don't mind it, as long as I still get the personal touch of the blogger. xoxox
Qué bonito recuerdo. Cuídalo! Tan estilosa como siempre.

Thank you so much sweety
This is such a nice fan. I understand why you love it that much (plus the fact it is a very nice and personnal present your brother gave you).
I admire your look and your beauty. Really.
I agree with you ; some blogs which use to be very good are just now a constant ad. It is very sad, and I don't like it even if i do advertising. They lost their soul, in a way.
Dearest Sacramento, that fan is beautiful, how lovely to have such a gorgeous thing to remind you of your brother. What a wonderful creative family you all are.
The dress and colours are fabulous. And the accessories!!! Love them! You never fail to amaze.
Please come and play dressing up in London! Much love, C xx
PS. I agree with you about overbranding and click throughs. I think all those ads everywhere make blogs look a mess which is why I refuse to have any. I also try never to tell my readers to buy anything. I have been asked to do one sponsored post by a shoe company. I don't mind that as all I do is pick my favourites from each section, I made it very clear I wasn't trying to sell anything and all I was prepared to do for it was pick what I'd choose. I'd rather share my bargains with everyone. We all have so little money these days, It's so much better to be creative xx
I love your dress. I think it is one of the most classic styles a woman can wear. You look lovely in it. I especially like the shoes you customized. Details like that are what make an outfit individual and unique.
COOL LOOK, that's so great to see someone older than us (i mean most of bloggers are between 15 and 30 years old) enjoying fashion as much as we are, you really has a personality and style and that's fantastic !!! keep on going !!
kisses

Wow this is SUCH an awesome outfit, I love the coolours soo much and it is really flattering on you. The fan is really beautiful. I'm so sorry about your brother. When I was little I had a handpainted fan from Spain :). I think there is a lot of "vote for me" stuff going on on blogs right now, which is really annoying! I hope you are well and please let me know when you are coming to Berlin! I would love to have that coffee with you! <3

Hi Sacramento! I love your delicate fan, what a beautiful remembrance to have. And you look as gorgeous as ever in those accents of blue!
xxxxx
Goodness! you are beautiful in that dress (I like its colours and print!). the details of your outfit are marvellously precious : the wonderful fan (it seems that you are all artists in your family!), the black lace gloves, the earrings, the anklet...
This fan is also a touching and beautiful memory of your brother.. I totally agree with you. I think it is cool to be able to earn a living with a blog but ads must remain quite "discreet".
tu est magnifique
What a beautiful idea to co-ordinate with the fan that is obviously so special itself. Your brother was clearly talented as you are.
Branding? I signed up to a bunch of affiliates after I started my blog then realised I hated the ads which, essentially companies were getting to display for free on my blog. So I took pretty much all of them down! x
So kind!!!
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Wow. This dress rocks! Adding the decorated wedges and the anklet that isn't really jewlery sent me over the top. Love the colors.
