Blog 1st Birthday

Today is my blog´s  birthday. I started blogging one year ago, and after getting to know all of you, I had to share what I wrote thinking of myself and the women of my family.

Hoy es el cumpleaños de mi blog. Hace un año que empecé el blog, y después de conoceros tenía que haceros partícipes de lo que escribí pensando en mí y en las mujeres de mi familia.

 Women With Wings

We search for them in woods, amongst centenary trees of rough trunks and rich in foliage and fruits. Protected and twinned with nature which nourishes them. Living close to streams of crystal waters, shaded by mountains and waterfalls; dressed in colourful silk: their long hair caressed by the breeze.

Las buscamos en los bosques, entre árboles centenarios de troncos rugosos y ramas preñadas de hojas y frutos; hermanadas con la naturaleza que las protege y las nutre.

Cerca de los arroyos de aguas cristalinas, a la sombra de montañas y cascadas; vestidas de seda de colores: sus largas cabelleras eternamente besadas por la brisa.

These fairies left the idyllic land of tales many years ago. Now, they live in our towns and cities as part of the grey concrete cityscape.

Estas hadas hace ya muchos, muchos años que abandonaron los lugares idílicos de los cuentos. Hoy viven entre nosotros, en nuestros pueblos, formando parte del asfalto gris de la ciudad.

Sometimes when they pass, heads turn to look at them; in some way you can perceive the invisible halo around them.
They are strong women with fire in their heart and soul.They feed on clear minds, kind hearts, free spirits; and an overpowering passion for life. They know what they are because they feel within the incipient battering of their wings in their childhood,  and their growth in their puberty.                                        

A veces, al verlas pasar se vuelven las miradas; de alguna manera se percibe el halo invisible que las envuelve.

Son mujeres fuertes, con fuego en el corazón y un cosquilleo en el alma que las hace buscar más allá. Se alimentan de una mente clara, de un corazón bondadoso, de un espíritu libre y

una pasión desbordante por la “Vida”.

Las hadas saben que lo son porque sienten en su interior el batir incipiente de sus alas en la niñez y su medrar en la pubertad.

They are not possessed by fear; although frequently they can feel its warm breath at the back of their necks, but when they look at it in the eye, it shreds and disappears.

They will use their wings not only to fly, but to cuddle, to shelter, to back, to push and to hug.

 No las poseen los miedos; aunque sientan su aliento en la nuca, al mirarlos a los ojos se deshilachan y desaparecen.

They spring on fountains of laughter and tears, clinging to the steep stones and the bays of the rivers. Going down to hell and up to heaven again.

Despite the avatars of life they have climbed the highest summits of the heart, the ones covered by a thousand feathers.

Crecen sobre fuentes de carcajadas y lágrimas, agarradas a los salientes de las peñas y a los entrantes de los ríos. Bajando a los infiernos y subiendo a las nubes.

A pesar de los zarpazos y avatares de lo cotidiano han conseguido escalar las cimas más altas del corazón, las que están cubiertas por mil plumas.
If you can feel the wings within let me know. It is always reassuring to know that we are many.
