Birthday and Tapas by the Park

The sun was shining on my husband´s birthday,  so it was time to go out for  drinks and  TAPAS by the park: El Vivero.
The only two places in Spain, as far as I know, where you can  get free tapas with every drink  are the provinces of Jaén, where we live, and Granada - Andalucia.

The word "tapas" is derived from the Spanish verb tapar, "to cover".
According to legend, the tapas tradition began when king Alfonso X of Castile recovered from an illness by drinking wine.  After regaining his health, the king ordered that taverns would not be allowed to serve wine to customers unless it was accompanied by a small snack or "tapa."
According to The Joy of Cooking, the original tapas were the slices of bread or meat which sherry drinkers in Andalusian taverns used to cover their glasses between sips. This was a practical measure meant to prevent fruit flies from hovering over the sweet sherry.
I bought this DKNY knitted jumper in a New York flea market.
              -Old skirt
             - Zara ´s  Victorian style jacket.
I have been  featured in Nuria´s blog  Cést Dimange . I do thank  her for thinking of me, and for her kindness.
Do check my feature in By Anika . Such an honour to me!!!!!!
