Amate women: art in the blood

My three nieces: Cristina, Virginia and Laura sent me a few photos they took in an old abandoned  factory. I found them so fascinating that I had to share them with you.
What a better way to start the year than with the work of the youngest generation of Amate women, and the art that runs through their veins. I am so proud that I have to I keep silent, and simply let you enjoy them.

Cristina is in a  Film School, and I am sure she will be a wonderful filmmaker one day.

Virginia is into Environmental Studies. And a true beauty...
Laura is doing Photography at college. I have no words to describe her...

I forgot to mention that I also speak Spanish, as my mother is Panamanian. I love reading Spanish blogs to keep up with the language.
I still haven't mastered using the accents on my computer though, so I feel silly writing in Spanish without the correct punctuation.
Yes, I love the creativeness of my two daughters, I guess they took after me and studied the arts. I have a degree in studio art, and most of my work was in photography, drawing and art history.

Oh, they are so talented! You must be proud of all these strong, confident, beautiful, artistic women in your family! The image I love the most is the 4th from the top - the umbrella amid all those angular lines. It's so striking... as is the one in the bathtub!

Fabulous! I immediately thought to myself - why isn't this what we see in fashion magazines? This is fashion! This is fun! This is really, really, cool. Congrats to your nieces. In English we say "the acorn doesn't fall far from the tree". So true!

Y contigo lo he hecho ;)

1 beso guapa!
