Black and Gold

I stopped using the scales a long time ago, and instead I try on,  once a month,  this black skirt that fits like a glove. The idea is to check size rather than weight, and forget about the numbers... 

Hace tiempo que dejé de usar la báscula para pesarme y en su lugar, me pruebo una vez a mes esta falda negra que se ajusta como un guante. La idea es controlar el volumen en lugar del peso y olvidarse de los números...

Today,  I am wearing black and gold. I have added  80s golden earring clips to  the shoes.

Hoy me he vestido de negro y oro. Les he puesto unos pendientes de clip dorados  de los años 80 a los zapatos.

Winter Flowers

I had planned an explosion of flowers for today,  knowing it would be really warm for this time of year ( 25ºc - 80F ), but there was something lacking...
Early in the morning,  the postwoman brought the missing piece  in the form of this 80s jacket  from the wonderful Vix . Do check her out,  and her fantastic, funny and inspiring blog.
In a sea of navy blues, browns, blacks and camel,  I did stick out in the crowd while running some errands this morning.  Hopefully like a breath of fresh air...

Había planeado una explosión floral para hoy a sabiendas de que iba a ser un día caluroso para esta época del año ( 25ºC- 80f ), pero me faltaba algo...
Esta mañana temprano la cartera trajo  esta chaqueta vintage años 80  de la maravillosa Vix. No te pierdas su fantástico, gracioso e inspirador blog.
En un mar de azul marino, marrones, negros y camel,  la gente me miraba sorprendida cuando fuí de compras esta mañana. Espero haber sido un soplo de aire fresco...

I fell in love with this renaissance inspired vintage dress at first sight. And before I even wore it, I knew it would fit, and feel perfect ...
I do firmly believe that we recognise  people, and things that are meant to be in our lives.
 Me enamoré de este vestido vintage de inspiración renacentista en cuanto lo ví, y aún antes de ponérmelo  sabía que me quedaría perfecto y me sentiría bien en él...
Creo firmemente que reconocemos a las personas y a las cosas destinadas a formar parte de nuestras vidas.

Fashion- Plaid and Polkadots

Fashion has slipped away from the hands of a few privileged gods. Their obsolete dictatorship redeemed only by the ones who still create sublime art.
True fashion trend is now in the heads, minds and hearts of people who dare to express themselves through clothes, and by doing so they inspire others.
They parade the streets of the world becoming a river of individuality that cannot be stopped.

La moda se escapa de la mano de unos cuantos dioses privilegiados. Su dictarula obsoleta  se redime solamente por la minoría que todavía crean arte.
La auténtica tendencia de la moda yace hoy en las mentes y los corazones de aquellos que se atreven a expresarse a través de la ropa, y haciéndolo inspiran a otros.
Pasean por las calles del mundo creando un río de individualismo que no puede ser parado.

Amate women: art in the blood

My three nieces: Cristina, Virginia and Laura sent me a few photos they took in an old abandoned  factory. I found them so fascinating that I had to share them with you.
What a better way to start the year than with the work of the youngest generation of Amate women, and the art that runs through their veins. I am so proud that I have to I keep silent, and simply let you enjoy them.

Mis tres sobrinas: Cristina, Virginia y Laura me enviaron unas fotos que tomaron hace unos días en una antigua fábrica de labrillo rojo abandonada.  Es tal mi fascinación que no me resisto a compartirlas con vosot@s.


Cristina is in a  Film School, and I am sure she will be a wonderful filmmaker one day.

             Virginia is into Environmental Studies. And a true beauty...

Laura is doing Photography at college. I have no words to describe her...

My daughters: home for Christmas

These are my daughters: Paloma ( left) and Rebecca ( right). But they are not only my daughters, but also my mothers, when I need one; my sisters, my support, my best friends, my soul mates and my centre.
Éstas son mis hijas: Paloma( izquierda) y Rebecca (derecha).  Pero no sólo son  mis hijas,  también mis madres, cuando las necesito, mis hermanas, mis pilares, mis mejores amigas,  mis almas gemelas y mi centro.

Rebecca  has been living  in Berlin for six years now. She teaches Business English, and is a musician  and performer.  ANHELA is her latest project.

Paloma is the baby of the family.
She has her own  interior design brand Paloma Hiles ( slow and craft interior design ), and a new project and workshop FABRIC-( together with three other designer friends).

Christmas is the only time of  year when we can play together.  As a matter of fact, they are wearing clothes from my wardrobe...
