Ripe Grapes and Purple Flowers

I bought this 80s vintage blouse in Berlin, and after measuring  and thinking it was too big for me,  it went straight to Ebay.
Strangely enough, it didn´t sell for weeks. I was very surprised, and wondered how people could not see how pretty it was.
One day, I decided to try it on, and as I was wearing it everything clicked into place.  I realized that most of its beauty was in my eyes,  and  I was always meant to be its rightful owner.  The one who should keep, wear and cherish it.

I do firmly believe that people and things that are meant to be in your path, find you and their way into your heart.
I built this outfit inspired by the blouse that loved and found me, and its wonderful patterns and colours .

Bracelet made with the belt of the blouse and an 80s clip earring.

I paired it with a Cherokee corduroy burgundy skirt  from England, musketeer  boots,  yellow belt, Zara old yellow cardigan worn as a waist coat, and my husband´s leather school bag  that I use to run paperwork errands, and that I just adore.

D&G meets Antigua

After 10 days indoors: hospital and home, I am very glad to be able to breath some fresh air and walk amongst people again.
I chose this jumper from the 80s ( bought in Berlin) as the centre piece of the outfit.
The elegance of the lady and the embellishment of the fluffy palm trees, led me to add an extra touch of glamour with a vintage pearl necklace.
I am wearing it with a Marks&Spencer´s black pencil skirt, black tights and
vintage black ankle boots without laces.

I am carrying  a  black fabric bag inspired by D&G.

I love this gold watch ( a present from my husband) . You  have already  seen my favourite 50s bracelet.

Bread making Day

I have been making bread for years, so today I decided that I was well enough to go back to baking. I have taken a few photos to share the experience with you.
While I am kneading the dough I keep my mind calm, a sort of meditation in motion, and concentrate on the energy of the flour through my fingers and the coming together with the seeds and yeast. Then, I observe the dough as it breathes and grows peacefully,  until it is time to go into the oven.

He estado haciendo pan desde hace años.

For a few weeks, and following the advice of a naturopath friend, I have been keeping away from wheat flour .  The reason being that the protein  in  the wheat you find in the market now a days, even organic wholemeal wheat,  has been  genetically  modified, so the body doesn´t recognize  it .   I am using an older type of wheat: spelt, in my bread recipe ;  as well as rye,  sesame , sunflower and pumpkin seeds.

I have found that since I have  given up wheat I feel more energetic, and  lost no weight but volume. You could try for a couple of weeks and see for yourselves...

You might find spelt bread already made in Health Food Stores, but here is a very easy recipe with no kneading involved.

                                   SPELT AND RYE BREAD

      Ingredients:
                         250 gr. wholemeal spelt flour
                         250 gr. Wholemeal rye flour
                        375 ml of warm water (40º c)
                        1 sachet organic yeast
                       1 level spoon of salt
                       Seeds (to taste)

Method
Put all the dry ingredients into a bowl and mix with a spatula, add the warm water and leave to rise for 2 hours.
Pass the dough to a greased silicone container ( for best results)
And put into a preheated oven at 180ºc for about 60 minutes.
                                   ENJOY!!!!!

                   Y A DISFRUTAR!!!

A Present from 1929

Since I am house bound my sister thought I might enjoy to have a look, and share with you all, this wonderful Spanish fashion magazine from 1929 that she found in a book market.
It has been kept in mint conditions through the years.  Touching its pages is like being in contact with history. My mind wanders and can nearly feel  all the  previous owners who dreamt while caressing its pages.

Last 7th of April , I decided to go a step forward, and share it with the world by starting my own blog

Green Hospital Red

I always wear colourful clothes, but even more when faced with a challenge.
Going to hospital for a small operation is not a great deal, but a challenge none the less;  so I decided to mix and match red and pink, tartan,  stripes and flowers  in a mad frenzy of worry and joy,  surrounded by the last blooms of summer in our front patio.

Zara blouse ( 3 years old)
Tartan Skirt
Silk tie ( used as a belt)
Vintage brooch
Old lady style black booties from Berlín vintage market.

I hope you like how I compensate the  hospital green feeling.
