Málaga: Picasso and Slow design
Inspired by the colourful outfit wore by my friend blogger Citizen Rosebud, I began the day paying a visit to Pablo Picasso´s birthplace; and after whispering a few words into his bronze ear, I continued my way to Fabric a designer workshop run by three young designers who have craft and quality hand made goods very close to their hearts.
Today, there was a conference by Inés Aguilar from " La Casita de Wendy" about ´the "Slow Design Movement "
I wore my favourite skirt with a new Italian t-shirt adorned with silver epaulettes. I also carried my new vintage bag.
I bought a really nice ring in the shape of a cup of chocolate with " churros" (Spanish cakes) made by a friend blogger "La vaca dijo Mu"
Inspirada por el post de mi amiga Citizen Rosebud y su atuendo colorista y picasiano, comencé el día visitando la casa donde nació Pablo Picasso. Y después de murmurarle algunas palabras en sus oídos de bronce puse rumbo a Fabric , un taller de diseño artesanal del que ya os he hablado.
Hoy había una conferencia de Inés Aguilar de " La Casita de Wendy" sobre el movimiento Slow Design.
Me puse mi falda favorita, que ha encontrado su complemento perfecto en esta camiseta. También saqué a pasear por primera vez mi nuevo bolso vintage.
Me compré un precioso anillo con una taza de chocolate y churros de una amiga bloguera: la vaca dijo Mu.

3 Tops, 1 Caribbean skirt and Ebay
I bought this Caribbean skirt a few years ago from Ebay. It was my first buy ever, so I was very excited, until I opened the parcel and found a very small skirt, fit for a size zero or a very young girl.
In the face of adversity I just decided to unpick the waist that was pleated, wash and iron it, and add an extra piece of material to the hips. It did the trick as you can see ; so much that it is now one of my favourites.
From that day on, I became an Ebay seller as a hobby: the type of Ebay seller I would like to buy from.
After 4 years of experience, this is my advice to Ebay buyers:
1-When you like an item, always check the positive votes of the seller.
2.- Read through the comments of other buyers, that will give you a good indication of their satisfaction.
3.- Make sure that you have all the measurements- Sizes varies from makes and countries.
4.- Do not hesitate to ask for more information or photos before you bid.
Compré esta falda caribeña en Ebay hace algunos años pensando que sería de mi talla, pero cuando abrí el paquete encontré una falda pequeñita, como para una niña. Ante la adversidad, decidí dar un paso más y sacar provecho de la situación.
La cintura iba rizada, así es que la deshice, la lavé y planché bien. Por último le añadí la tela extra que necesitaban las caderas. Hoy se cuenta entre mis favoritas.
A raíz de aquel hecho, me convertí en vendedora de Ebay como hobby: la vendedora a la que a mí me gustaría comprar.
Tras 4 años de experiencia me permito daros algunos consejos antes de comprar un artículo:
1.- Comprueba el porcentaje de votos positivos del vendedor.
2.- Tómate un tiempo para leer los comentarios de los compradores, pueden ser un reflejo claro de la calidad del vendedor.
3.- Asegúrate de que tienes toda la información sobre medidas ( las tallas varían mucho entre paises y marcas) .
4.- No dudes en pedir más información si la necesitas.

Birthday card
I woke up this morning to this birthday card from my husband.
He is the car and I am the tree, we both crashed into each other many years ago.
I do feel like a tree, an olive tree: firm trunk, roots that dig deep into the earth in search of its essence; branches that rise into the air wishing to touch the stars, alien to gales and storms.
Every birthday is a mixture of celebration and a relentless encounter with the passing of time.
Drops of life that bleed into instants, only saved by the awareness of being alive.
Me he levantado hoy con esta tarjeta de felicitación de mi marido.
Él es el coche y yo el árbol, ambos colisionamos hace ya muchos años.
Yo me siento árbol, un olivo de tronco fuerte, raíces que se hunden en lo más profundo de la tierra para beber su esencia; ramas que se alzan al cielo buscando las estrellas, ajenas a vendavales y tormentas.
Cada cumpleaños es una mexcla de celebración y el inexorable reencuentro con el paso del tiempo.
Gotas de vida que se desangran en instantes y que sólo salva la consciencia de estar vivo.

7 Skirts- 7 Days project.- The End
With my 7th skirt I end the project " seven days- Seven Skirts" intended to show you some of my favourite skirts, and my passion for them all.
When I saw this skirt it was love at first sight: the earthy colour blurring the deep blue, the impossible cuts and the medieval inspired waist conquered me utterly.
I knew it was meant to be mine, so it would fit like a glove: gird my waist and adorn my hips without emphasising them.
When I put in on, all my brooches came out to welcome it, and they pinned themselves on to my red blouse like poppies in a field.
Con mi septima falda termina el proyecto de "7 días-7 faldas" que empecé con la intención de mostraros algunas de mis faldas favoritas y mi pasión por todas ellas.
Cuando ví esta falda fue amor a primera vista: el color tierra emborronando el azul inteso, los cortes imposibles y la cintura con su aire medieval me conquistaron completamente.
Sin probármela sabía que me quedaría como un guante: se ceñiría a mi cintura y adornaría mis caderas sin enfatizarlas.
Cuando me la puse, todos mis broches salieron para darle la bienvenida y se quedaron prendidos en mi blusa como si de un campo de amapolas se tratara.

I am back, and so are the 50s
I am back from Berlin, and so are the 50s in fashion; perhaps due to the influence of the TV series "Mad Men" or just the natural cycle of creativity.
Somehow like the yew tree, fashion extends its branches to reach its roots and feeds on them in order to be eternally reborn.
Even the adverts are wonderful.
This is my favourite photo of them all: I love the tights and the fruit patterned skirt.

This is my little present to you all: Madame a magazine from March 1955 that I found in an antique book market. It is still on sale and popular amongst German women today. Here are a few pics for you to enjoy.
