7 Skirts- 7 Days project.- The End

With my 7th skirt I end the project " seven days- Seven Skirts" intended to show you some of my favourite skirts, and my passion for them all.

When I saw this skirt it was love at first sight: the earthy colour blurring the deep blue, the impossible cuts and the medieval inspired waist conquered me utterly.
I knew it was meant to be mine, so it would fit like a glove: gird my waist and adorn my hips without emphasising them.
When I put in on, all my brooches came out to welcome it, and they pinned themselves on to my red blouse like poppies in a field.

Con mi septima falda termina el proyecto de "7 días-7 faldas" que empecé con la intención de mostraros algunas de mis faldas favoritas y mi pasión por todas ellas.
Cuando ví esta falda fue amor a primera vista: el color tierra emborronando el azul inteso, los cortes imposibles y la cintura con su aire medieval me conquistaron completamente.
Sin probármela sabía que me quedaría como un guante: se ceñiría a mi cintura y adornaría mis caderas sin enfatizarlas.
Cuando me la puse, todos mis broches salieron para darle la bienvenida y se quedaron prendidos en mi blusa como si de un campo de amapolas se tratara.

Las botas de piel son vintage y tiene un aire Hermés.

This beautiful brooch was a present from my daughter. She found it in a vintage market and paid 1 euro for it. Don´t you love it???

I am back, and so are the 50s

I am back from Berlin, and so are the 50s in fashion; perhaps due to the influence of the TV series "Mad Men" or just the natural cycle of creativity.
Somehow like the yew tree, fashion extends its branches to reach its roots and feeds on them in order to be eternally reborn.

This is my little present to you all: Madame a magazine from March 1955 that I found in an antique book market. It is still on sale and popular amongst German women today. Here are a few pics for you to enjoy.

Even the adverts are wonderful.

This is my favourite photo of them all: I love the tights and the fruit patterned skirt.

Tschüss Berlin, for now

Before packing our cases we had time to enjoy once more the feel of the streets and corners of Berlin. We treated ourselves to a delicious Indian meal, and went into several book shops: flipped through pages while we saw with amazement how a pile of books had become another tree amongst the beautiful plants.

I am wearing a cool flowery vintage dress ( 1 euro), my favourite yellow booties (sooooo comfortable...) and a vintage leather belt that goes with just about everything.
See you all back in the very hot South of Spain.

Coffee, cakes and The citizen Rosebud questions

These are the questions my friend The citizen Rosebud asked me:

1. If "the clothes make the man," what do your clothes make you?

A woman who acknowledges fashion trends, but will follow it only if its fits her own instincts and likings.

2.-Do you agree with this quote: "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels"

I have never been skinny, not even when I starved myself in my early teens, so I wouldn´t know, nor do I want to. What tastes really good is to feel GREAT in your skin, and to love the way you look.

3-What's your best physical feature?

My eyes.

4.-If you were Anne Wintour for a day, who would be on the cover of Vogue?

Nobody in particular- I have no idols.

5.-Are you committed to buying "Sweat-shop free"?

90 % of my purchases are vintage. Therefore, as sweat- shop free as possible.

6.-Name two of your fashion heroes. And, why?

Vivienne Westwood, Marc jacobs, Gaultier..., but above all the magic creativity of John Galliano.Why???? because he inspired my wildest dreams...

7.-Do you wear fur?

I never ever wear fur. With all my respect for people who do, I couldn´t consider to wear another animal skin on mine.

8.-What are you going to be wearing this Fall?

Berlín early days

Grünewald in blue

We are keeping away from the city centre, taken over by tourists in August, and wandering into the quiet suburbs.
Yesterday, we visited Grünewald: mansion houses overlooking the lake, beautiful gardens and flower beds.
We were sitting in a terrace for a rest and a beer, when I heard the sound of prayers and chants. As I turned my head, I saw a group of people deep in their thoughts, connected in spirit beyond time and space. And for a brief moment I was part of their common soul.
